“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy are the noise before defeat.” “When the enemy is relaxed, make them toil. When full, starve them.” ~ Sun Tzu
As leaders, we can learn from Sun Tzu who was a master strategist. As good as it is to have a long-term plan or strategy if you do not have tactics or short-term carefully planned actions to achieve a goal. Sometimes as leaders, we can be tempted to be excited by the future but fail to plan the actions that take us to that great future. On the contrary, if you have powerful tactics, but have no strategy, you will still fail. In conclusion, we all need a balance between crafting and following a strategy, and at the same time putting tactics in place. Furthermore, we should not confuse strategy with tactics.
