EMPLOYMENT EXIT PLAN

This is something that I never discuss a lot but it is an important topic. People should have a good exit plan when they are planning to leave a job.

This applies whether you are leaving your job to start a business, due to retirement, or quitting due to poor working conditions or low salary. There are many reasons that may push someone to quit his / her job but regardless of the situation, there must be good planning.

If you are leaving your job to start a business, you should make sure that by the time you are leaving paid employment, the intended business you want to start is already in motion. You should be at a position where requirements for such a business are almost 70 to 80%. You cannot afford to quit your job based on a plan in the air because not all plans become successful. There is a chance to fail. Life without an income is very miserable.

Retirement

Most job policies notify employees at what age they will retire. It is very important that you do not take a loan in the last days of your employment towards your retirement time. You cannot commit to a financial obligation that needs subscription when you are about to retire. Please take note, you cannot use your retirement packages to build a house or purchase a car.

Retirement package should be used to take care of you in the time of no job as you will be resting at your home.

Plan for post retirement

You also need to plan how you will want to spend your time after retirement. Join politics, join non-profit organizations, or start farming. This will be a good idea to decide on before you retire so that you know how to continue with your life.

Leaving a job due to poor working conditions

Most people who leave a job due to poor working conditions or lower salary, do so in a hurry, without taking time to think straight. Most people in this situation leave their jobs frustrated and without consideration of the consequences. There will be a lot of emotions and people leave the job without a plan.

A lot of young people always approach me in a difficult situation where they would want to quit their jobs out of frustration but without a plan what to do next.

Have an exit plan

I always give advice that half a loaf is better than nothing. If you decide to leave your job, then you need a good exit plan. That is you need to find another job first before you quit your current job.

You cannot just be controlled by emotions and leave your job to sit at home doing nothing. Having no source of income causes you to become a dependent person.

Get a job while you are still working

Believe you me, it is easier to get a job when you are engaged somewhere than when you are now seated at home.

So it is important to plan ahead before you resign from your job. There is life after work that needs to be planned for.

Have a good day and never make a life-changing decision when you are angry or too happy. You cannot be driven by emotions because emotions are very temporary.
